About Us
The purpose of Bracchiatus Pretzels is simple: offer authentic, traditional, handcrafted soft pretzels.
We set out to recreate the traditional soft pretzel (and some modern variations) from simple, healthy ingredients. After spending two years developing a recipe, we can confidently say that these are the best homemade pretzels you will ever have. We donโt use unnecessary additives, extra butter, or ingredients that we canโt pronounce. Ultimately, after testing more than 17 different varieties, we selected the ones that are consistent with our goal of offering tasty, healthy soft pretzel options.

The word โbracchiatusโ (pronounced brah-kee-AH-tus) is the origin of the word โpretzelโ (via โbrezelโ in German). Meaning โwith armsโ in Latin, it describes the shape of a pretzel, which was introduced in the Middle Ages. The history of this word is shown in our logo: a dinosaur (a play on the word bracchiatus, which sounds like a type of dinosaur) with little arms eating a pretzel, appearing on a gold field similar to those found in illuminated medieval manuscripts. The font is Guillaume, which is based on 15th-century French typefaces. The logo was designed by Elisheva Wagner.
We invite you to try our pretzels and experience the care that goes into making them.
