Frequently Asked Questions
About the company
Where did the name Bracchiatus Pretzels come from?
The word “bracchiatus” (pronounced brah-kee-AH-tus) is the origin of the word pretzel. Meaning “with arms” in Latin, it describes the shape of a pretzel, which was introduced in the Middle Ages. The company name is a tribute to the history of the pretzel.
Where is the company located?
Bracchiatus Pretzels is a home-based business located in New York, in the New York City metropolitan area.
About the pretzels
What kinds of pretzels can I order?
We offer four primary varieties of pretzels:
- Plain
- Cinnamon
- Cheese-filled
- Pretzel balls
Each of these varieties is available in white flour and whole wheat versions. We also offer peanut butter–filled pretzel balls, giving you a total of 10 options to choose from.
What are the ingredients?
Each pretzel is made with the same basic ingredients: wheat flour, water, yeast, sugar, salt, and baking soda. The pretzels with toppings or fillings contain additional ingredients; please see the list in the description for each pretzel.
Are the whole wheat pretzels 100% whole wheat flour?
The whole wheat pretzels are made with a mix of half whole wheat flour and half white flour.
How are the pretzels made?
Each pretzel is made by hand in a home kitchen from simple, healthy ingredients. The dough is shaped into the traditional form of a pretzel, dipped into a baking soda bath to give it that well-known crust and flavor, and then baked, cooled, and packaged for delivery.
Are there any allergens?
All of the pretzel varieties contain wheat flour (gluten). Some also contain milk, peanuts, and soy. Please check each pretzel’s allergen information in the relevant description. Please note that since the pretzels are prepared in a home kitchen, cross-contamination may be unavoidable.
Do the pretzels come with a salt topping?
Salt is included separately with the plain pretzels and pretzel balls, due to shipping restrictions.
Are the pretzels vegetarian?
All of the pretzels are vegetarian.
Are the pretzels vegan?
All of the pretzels are vegan except for the cheese-filled options.
Are the pretzels kosher?
All of the ingredients are kosher, but the baking process is not supervised by a kosher-certifying agency.

Discounted shipping is available if you order more than 12 pretzels (please contact us to purchase more than 24 pretzels in a single order). See the table below for details.
| Pretzels purchased | Shipping charges |

| 13-24 | Additional $8.00 per box (maximum 6 pretzels per box) |
How to enjoy your pretzels
How are the pretzels kept fresh before delivery?
After the pretzels have been baked and cooled, they are vacuum sealed and then frozen in preparation for shipping (they will arrive frozen). This allows the pretzels to stay fresh during shipping and for later storage at your home (if for some reason you don’t want to eat them right away).
How do I reheat the pretzels?
- If fully frozen: Preheat your oven to 350˚. Place the pretzels on an unlined baking sheet or tray and sprinkle salt over the top if desired. Place the pretzels in the oven for 10 minutes. Serve warm.
- If partially frozen: Preheat your oven to 350˚. Place the pretzels on an unlined baking sheet or tray and sprinkle salt over the top if desired. Place the pretzels in the oven for 5-7 minutes or until fully thawed. Serve warm.
Make sure to remove any packaging from the pretzels before reheating! There is no need to defrost the pretzels before reheating them.
Can the pretzels be stored for later?
Yes! For the best taste and texture, keep the pretzels in an airtight bag or container in your freezer. Do not store pretzels in the refrigerator.

There is a problem with my order. Can I return the pretzels?
Unfortunately, because pretzels are perishable food products, returns are not possible. If there is an issue, please contact us and we will make it right.
If the pretzels were damaged during shipping, please let us know immediately. Take pictures of the packaging and the pretzels so we can investigate.
